Advanced Colorectal and Gastrointestinal Surgical Care

Specialized expertise. Whole-patient perspective. The precision of a subspecialist, the judgment of a generalist.

01 · Approach

A Surgeon’s Practice, Built on a Broader View

Clinicians reviewing diagnostic imaging to plan colorectal and gastrointestinal surgery

Dr. Abodeely’s clinical practice is grounded in advanced colorectal and gastrointestinal surgery, with subspecialty focus on cancers of the colon and rectum, inflammatory bowel disease, and complex motility and pelvic floor disorders.

Where his approach differs is in what surrounds the operation. Surgical decisions are made with attention to the systems that govern long-term recovery — the microbiome, metabolism, inflammation, nutrition, and the lifestyle factors that determine how well a patient heals and how durable the outcome will be.

Patients are treated as whole people with a condition, not conditions in need of a procedure.
